![]() I started this file on the 16th of November, but maybe my project is supposed to start March of next year. Editing, I want you to realize is that as soon as you start a file, it gives the starting date to be the date that you started the file, but that might not be the case. So you have to make that decision and make a decision on how you're going to print it if you are ever going to use this as a way of communicating to others. If you have a very large project that goes over many months, all the zooming out might lose a lot of information. You would see now we have multiple pages showing the Gantt Chart, which is not as easy to see. PROJECTLIBRE LINK TASKS PDFI'm going to zoom in a little and I'm going to go back and ask for a second PDF and I'm going to call this second PDF. Now, let me zoom in and see what it will look like. If you have zoomed out, you will get the Gantt chart this way. You would see that the first page has the entry page, which is work packages, their duration, and the precedence, so, therefore, it also gives me this start and finish on the days, and the second page you will see the Gantt chart. Now, let me open up the PDF and show you what you see. I'm going to click on PDF and I'm going to save this here. If you go to file and select either print or PDF, so let me show you the PDF because you can see it and the print would look exactly like the PDF. One of the things that you may want to do is that to print this. The next thing that I want you to look at is go back to Gantt and zoom out in order to get a better idea of the Gantt. The red indicates critical paths, blue indicates non-critical path, and the blacks boxes represent the milestones on major deliverables. Through the network, you can see the project network. Then you have procurement and its work packages and the marketing distribution. Here's product design with its work packages. Because this is the lowest level, these are our work packages and this work breakdown structure. You will see R&D and all the tasks and deliverables that are below it. If you go now to work breakdown structure, you would see this better. We should have the same thing in R&D, and you will see that the R&D procurement and marketing distribution all appear as black, they represent that major deliverable on the very top. Product design happens to be a milestone. As you look at this, you would see that the product design does not connect to anything. The red indicates critical path and the blue indicates the non-critical paths. It's a little hard to see and I want you to know that that looks exactly like what Microsoft Project would give you if the nodes are in the rectangles. We have done this project, New Toy, and right now if you're in the view, you can go to the network, you get the project network. Let me show you a few things that you can use. ProjectLibre being an open-source software, it is still not everything that you can get in Microsoft Project, but it's very good. ![]() In this video, I'm going to show some basic operations in ProjectLibre. ![]()
